Used to prevent loosening of threaded connections. After the nut is tightened, insert the cotter pin into the nut groove and the bolt tail hole, and open the tail of the cotter pin to prevent relative rotation of the nut and the bolt.
Assembly of split pin
1. Insert the cotter pin into the cylindrical pin with your hand or pliers. Don't use a hammer to drive the cotter pin in.
2. Use a screwdriver to break apart the split pin.
3. The angle of opening the split pin is 60° in principle. If it collides with the workpiece, the cotter pin can be rolled up.
4. When opening the split pin, pay attention to making the separated part straight and symmetrical. R-shaped and upper neutral gears with uneven length are not allowed.
5. When fixing the slotted nut, the opening angle of the cotter pin is 60° in principle, and it is properly twisted a few times. But when there is obstruction to the surrounding or the insulation distance is not enough, the cotter pin should be rolled up.
